Bursaphelenechus cocophilus (Cobb; Goodey) Baujard, (Nematoda: Aphelenehoididae), es el agente causal de la enfermedad conocida anillo rojo hoja corta, ampliamente distribuida en colombia, registrada por primera vez en 1962 y hasta 1989 se conocio como Rhadinaphelenchus cocophilus. Sin embargo, el género fue renombrado y en la actualidad se conoce como Bursaphelenchus.
